You know the feeling you get when you've never been somewhere before but as soon as you walk in it's like you've been there your whole life? There isn't a word in the English language that accurately describes this feeling but the Norwegians call it Hygge. That unmistakable feeling of contentment and well-being, the feeling of being at home. But what is a home? We know it's more than just 13 brand new windows being installed in November. It's more than just a newer roof or a remodeled bathroom; it's more than having a freshly paved driveway and a brand new sewer line. In fact I don't think its any ONE of theses things but the cumulative nature of knowing you have ALL of them. If by chance you don't know what I'm talking about, then go sit on the covered back deck and watch the sunset over Greentree hill and as the golden sun beams of twilight dance off the DVE building and the crisp scent of autumn sets in, you will know Hygge, you will now know home.
